Tier 1 Service Support Engineer

A great opportunity for a Tier 1 Service Support Engineer in Thame. You will be responsible for delivering a first-class service to the business, in person, over the phone or through the Helpdesk to ensure that Incidents and Service Requests are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. If you’re interested in IT, this is the perfect role to get your foot in the door!

A typical day as a Service Support Engineer will include:
• Ensuring that Tier 1 incidents and service requests are being responded to and resolved in a timely manner, categorised and triaged accordingly.
• Initial troubleshooting for any raised incidents
• Providing general desktop and mobile support
• Liaising with Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams as required to ensure effective incident and service request resolution
• Placing orders for IT equipment and ensuring all asset records are accurately maintained.
• Processing new starters and leavers
• Configuration and provision of new mobile devices (mobiles phones or tablets)
• Other technical activities may be required such as software installation, password resetting and resolving basic technical issues

You will enjoy working as a Service Support Engineer if you:
• Have excellent communication skills and can engage with people at all levels.
• Has a ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Have an analytical approach and enjoy problem-solving.
• Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office 365
• Want to work for a company that will invest in your development

Nice to have (but not essential) skills would be:
• +2 years’ experience working within a Helpdesk environment
• Basic understanding of networking
• Basic understanding of Active Directory
• ITIL Foundation certified
• Knowledge of a helpdesk (ITSM) tool
• Mobile Device Management
